London’s fabric nightclub has announced the cancellation of its upcoming EXODUS Festival. The event, which was scheduled to take place on July 8th and 9th, 2023 at Kelvedon Hall in Essex, was set to be the venue’s first-ever outdoor festival.
In a statement, the organizers cited concerns about production costs and projected ticket sales as the reason for the cancellation. It also said that the event would not be able to deliver the high-quality experience that the brand is known for.
“We are incredibly disappointed to have to cancel EXODUS Festival,” said Cameron Leslie, co-founder of fabric. “We had worked hard to put together an amazing lineup and were excited to welcome our community to Kelvedon Hall for a weekend of music and dancing. However, after careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the event. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
All ticket holders for EXODUS Festival will be automatically refunded. fabric has also offered free entry and a complimentary drink at the London venue on the nights of July 8th and 9th as a gesture of goodwill.
The cancellation of EXODUS Festival is the latest in a series of setbacks for the UK festival industry. In recent months, several other festivals have been forced to cancel or postpone due to a variety of factors, including rising costs, staffing shortages, and inclement weather.
