Influenced by a multitude of musical forms, Miami-based producer and DJ Alex Cecil unveils his new indie dance ‘Tell Me Enigma’ EP on Deep Playa Records. With an insatiable appetite, his love for music knows no hierarchies, neither shapes nor sizes.

Taking a more visceral, yet engaging, approach to music unheard of in recurrences and recurring clichés, the ‘Tell Me Enigma’ EP captivates from start to finish. The tracks that make up this album are structured in the form of infinite loops, so that sounds can be modulated that reproduce psychedelic and soulless -but alive- musical passages. It’s like in each song there is a precise balance between melancholic and happy tones.

The title track ‘Tell Me Enigma’ takes listeners on a captivating late-night journey with its moody and ethereal sounds. While ‘Dance Outside The Box,’ with its haunting female vocal, leads the listener on a disjointed journey through new lands. To finish, ‘Motley Uniform’ delivers pulsing baselines and reverberating synths, opening minds and bodies on the dance floor.

The EP also includes two can’t-miss remixes. Ruggiero’s ‘Motley Uniform’ remix is a bass-forward tech house flip, while Aquariox delivers an uplifting progressive rework taking ‘Tell Me Enigma’ to bold new places.

It is as if Cecil had wanted to combine both feelings, without dispensing with one or the other at any time. Here we find a narrative thread that unites each theme in an emotional and intense way. It gives the feeling that he wanted to tell us something through sounds, something that has to do with a world that tends to schizophrenia, to forget what surrounds it. On the other hand, the remixes by Aquariox and Maurizio Ruggiero add a singular, forceful, and energetic note, without losing the aura of the original songs. This album was born to close progress in a conception of things that makes us contemplate them, with measure and delicacy, but without getting lost in them.

The result is a serious work, carefully cared for, that lends itself to starting and not returning to reality until it is finished. Cecil’s innovative approach to indie dance is sure to captivate and delight fans as he continues to push the genre’s boundaries.
