01. Rex The Dog – Change This Pain For Ecstasy [Kompakt]
“This is a straight up club anthem. Pure throwback vibes here, and it just crushes the dance floor. I played this in Buenos Aires and received tons of track ID requests and saw lots of Shazams in the audience. Slams.”
02. atish, Vridian – Instant Transmission (Instant Transmission (boys be kko’s Sanya Mix) [Manjumasi]
“We released a monster remix package for my Instant Transmissions EP on my Manjumasi imprint. I play many of the tracks from the release, but the Boys Be Kko remix really nailed the “Manjumasi sound” the best. Deep, quirky, weird, but still revolves around a melodic hook.”
03. D’Julz – Highway (Janeret Remix) [Bass Culture Records]
“Oooof, that groove, that bass, it’s dirty, it moves. Then those pads come in and it’s all over for me. Killer groover here.”
04. Hermanez – Basic Needs [Satya]
“Yokoo’s Satya imprint is probably my favorite label right now. The right blend between minimal, house, and melody sits perfectly for me. This Hermanez EP was an absolute smash, and Basic Needs makes it in almost all my sets.”
05. Zone+ – Endless Fever [For a Memory]
“My man Zone+ has been absolutely on fire this last year. This tune floats perfectly: nice funky bass, swingin’ housey groove, floaty arp…and when those vocals come in…MMMMMM”
06. Tuccillo – Feel The Heat [H.O.T.]
“Fun track to play. A “wowow” bass, a fun piano lead, a club-friendly drop, and overall a sense of urgency that keeps the floor on the edge of its seat.”
07. Lost.Act – Poema De La Noche (Calabasa Remix) [Dreams on Wax]
“I’ve had a couple of Calabasa tracks in my collection which slam but didn’t discover this one until Kora played it in one of our B2B gigs. Not sure even how to describe the sound of this, but whatever it is, I love it.”
08. Inflair – Tell Ya [ORIGINS RCRDS]
“It wasn’t a conscious decision to include a bunch of tracks with a throwback feel, but I guess working on this piece helped reveal where my head is at musically these days. Floaty, daytime, broken beat uplifting vibes here. This track doesn’t change the world, but gets all the elements right.”
09. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs – Blood In The Snow (Tibi Dabo Remix)
“Really interesting tune here. Late-night heady movin’ vibes. I actually haven’t had the chance to play this one out yet as I think it requires the right crowd, vibe, and building to get to this point. So keeping this one in my prep list every gig until I get there. Regardless, it’s an A+ in my book.”
10. Isolée – Rumour [Resort Island]
“Maybe not easiest to play in the club, but it still regularly makes it in my prep lists. Killer sound design, a perfect interplay of melodic elements, and a sense of space that makes me feel like I’m floating away. Bravo Isolée”
