Cassy has just shared the drop of her new ‘The Mission’ EP, which signals her first solo work on her Kwench label since 2021. The new record is already available to stream and purchase across all major digital platforms.
‘The Mission’ is the first in a string of releases that finds Cassy celebrating her 20 years in the music industry as a DJ, producer, and singer/songwriter.
“As a DJ / producer you can often feel like you need to play it safe with what music you’re putting out or playing, but how are you meant to fully express yourself when you’re harnessing your creative expression like this? I don’t want to cut back creativity just for fear of fitting in. It’s fantastic to be creative and you should be able to do it shamelessly as you want. After becoming totally uninspired I started listening to genres like Drum n Bass, but also Eurodance hits like ‘Rhythm Of The Night’, La Bouche’s ‘Be My Lover’ and was just taken back by the force of these tracks. No matter where you are, they make you happy for a second, even if it’s a guilty pleasure you will start dancing or smiling. This is what I tried to encapsulate in ‘Inside Dance’. Total shameless expression. ‘The Get On Down’ is the exact mixture of driving house and techno that I love to mix and play,” says Cassy about the sonic identity of the EP.
