AMÉMÉ selects his 10 favorite Amapiano tracks

Day Zero’s inception celebrated new beginnings with the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012, its origin yielding one of the world’s most transformative and acclaimed parties. Bringing together the natural, mythic and euphoric, Day Zero will return to the mystical jungles of Tulum on January 9th, 2023.

Day Zero harnesses the power of performance and production to create its own storytelling universe, lasers spill through historic canopies, alien creatures from the future align with the ancient Mayans, and partygoers are offered new ways to think about and experience space and time. Each moment from sunset to sunrise is soundtracked by the world’s most forward-thinking live acts and selectors, inimitably curated by   Day Zero founder Damian Lazarus.

This year’s edition of Day Zero will also impulse the Amapiano movement for the first time in Tulum. Ahead of his performance at  Day Zero  2023, AMÉMÉ selects his 10 favorite Amapiano tracks:

1. AMÉMÉ – Power feat. Mario Reyes

‘Power’ is one of my signature tracks and a staple in my sets. The crowd goes crazy every time and, without fail, always starts singing along.”

2. Orun Aiye – Mezomo (Nenahalena Remix)

“This track is another staple for me. The drum set is killer; Nenahalena crushed it.”

“Groovy, sexy, and classic.”

4. Culoe De Song – Medicine

‘Medicine’ is gold and never gets old.”

5. Tigerskin – Chuckle

“The perfect happy and melodic vibe to close out a dynamic set. This track without a doubt always has the crowd on Cloud 9.”

6. Philou Louzolo & Kususa ft Marisa – Melanin

“This track is one of my favorites to open with; it’s a mood-setter with a punch that gets the crowd going from the get-go.”

7. Jamie Jones & AMÉMÉ – Pliva

“This record marries Afro and Tech house in a very authentic way; it’s a high-energy track.”

‘Balafonerra’ is purely a powerful record.”

9. Baron & Darmon – Ellora

“This track is a beautiful mixture of ethnic and Afro-house. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it and immediately decided to sign it on One Tribe.”

‘Agenda’ is one of my not-so-secret weapons anymore. A go-to track.”
