Mau P selects his favorite tracks on rotation

Mau P is set to make a major impact on the house music scene. The Amsterdam native eats, breathes, and sleeps music. He was raised in a household full of talented musicians, taking on multiple instruments from a very young age. At 14 years old, Mau P (born Maurits Westveen) found an unconditional love for dance music. He now effortlessly channels his musical skillset, raw talent, and boundless creativity into both his productions and DJ sets. With the support of his city, he’s ready to bring the sound of Amsterdam to the rest of the world. Starting off with his debut single ‘Drugs From Amsterdam’ on Repopulate Mars, one of the hottest labels in the scene. With his unreleased work already being widely supported by house music heavyweights, Mau P is definitely an artist worth keeping your eye on.

To celebrate the release of his debut single ‘Drugs From Amsterdam’, Mau P selects his current Top 10 tracks on rotations:

1. Greco (NYC) – Be feat. Rowetta (Klangkuenstler Remix)

“The energy in this one is so insane and it really creates a moment when you play it out. It’s got a break with nothing going on but that classic Rowetta vocal. You really get to grab the crowd’s attention and then it just keeps building onto this absolute missile of a drop. Which can never go wrong.”

2. House Of Love (Roog & Dennis Quin 2k17 Tribute To The Master Extended Mix)

“This is a real dirty one that I started playing in my sets a while ago. I love the chaos it creates. The screaming vocal, the bouncy bassline with those fat classic kicks, the rave pluck. I love the vibe this one sets in a room.”

3. Joshwa – Miracles

“Once again a classic being sampled into absolute filth. It’s the Jackson Sisters taken on by this amazing producer called Joshwa. I love what he’s been doing lately.”

4. Nic Fanciulli – Over

“The groove in this one is insane. Nic Fanciulli is a legend. What else can I say.”

5. Kaiserdisco – Black Mamba

“I recently played in this amazing techno club called Kompass in Gent, Belgium. I got the opportunity to warm up the place for my Dutch friend Reinier Zonneveld. When I started playing there was nobody, but the place filled up so fast. When I dropped this track the whole club erupted. It was amazing.”

6. Egbert – Straktrekken

“Another techno track. I heard this when I was going to Awakenings in Amsterdam for the first time. At that time I was 18, which is now more than seven years ago. Nonetheless, this is still a classic track, I never could have thought I would actually be playing this one myself at shows. It’s such an amazing tune that’s unlike anything else I’ve heard. Always catches the crowd by surprise.”

7. Kanye West – Hurricane (kryptogram Remix)

“Recently discovered this one on Soundcloud and I just can’t get enough of it. I love the original by Kanye and The Weeknd. I didn’t get to play this one out yet, but I’ve really been dying to!”

8. R.E.M – Losing My Religion (Tal Fussman Remix)

“First time I heard this tune get played was at a CamelPhat show last Summer. Really didn’t know what hit me and I’m so glad I eventually found what remix it was. I played it in my Ushuaïa Ibiza set last week and it worked so well. “

9. Matt Guy – Party Starter

“I love what Matt Guy has been doing recently. This is probably my favorite of all of his tracks. It’s so simple but it gets everyone in rave mode real fast.”

10. Mau P – Drugs From Amsterdam

“I added this one in here because I just wanted to let everyone know how thankful I am for the love and support on this song. It definitely changed my life.”
